We stayed here with our 2 kids and mother in law and have to say it was amazing. The resort itself has everything you need to have a pleasant relaxing week in Acapulco. The room has a kitchen which is a plus. The shuttle from resort will take you nearby for free!! (tip is suggested). All the restaurants are really good and there are activities for adults and children.

Very enjoyable and relaxing vacation for family with small kids

We just spent a week in Grand Mayan, and are very happy that we chose to spend the vacation in this beautiful resort. The resort sits on a relatively quite beach, in a big gated area that includes Mayan Palace and a golf course. It has very nice pools and a lazy river. We also went to the Mayan Palace which has more pools, including a kiddie pool and water playground. Our kids had a lot of fun in these pools. The suite we had is ocean facing, which offers marvelous views and beatiful sunsets. Resort staff is well trained. They pay attention to every detail, and offer help before you ask for it. They make you feel well taken care of, even pampered. The breakfast is very good with many selections. The suite comes with a kitchen. There are grocery stores like Walmart and Mega nearby. The owner was very responsive to our requests. Very easy to deal with. All in all, the Grand Mayan is a nice place that we really liked, and probably is the best choice in Acapulco for families with small kids. We were talking about coming back in the future while we were still there.

Totally relaxing, pampered in luxury

We've traveled many times to Europe, the Caribbean, Alaska and Mexico and love to stay at upmarket resorts enjoying luxury breaks with unassuming and unpretentious service. This year we thought we would try an Acapulco resort and we were not disappointed! The Grand Mayan was amazing from start to finish. It's such a haven you never want to leave the resort despite the fact there are some nice side trips to take. There's a lot of space and a great sense of peace and safety. I was reassured immediately upon our arrival, and never worried at all. Our place was fantastic with amazing views of the ocean and the resort grounds were manicured beautifully. We had a refreshing dipping pool our our deck, which was a glorious relaxing treat. And a wonderful Jacuzzi soaking tub in the bathroom. All was exactly as the pictures, no disappointments. Even the beds were very comfortable. Arrival was great with refreshing lavender chilled face towels and delicious flavored water. What a welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble and the restaurants were excellent. The Day Spa is a great retreat and a must visit. I would stop by the spa on my way back to my room after beaing at the beach or pool just to grab a chilled towel for my face. Luxury! The workout facility was well appointed also, and we visited daily. The staff each had smiles, and a sweet gesture of touching their heart and a slight bow as we passed anywhere in the resort. The main pool is a great spot to unwind and relax with a good book. The cabana area was perfect. Lots of pillows and extra towels, with coverings for the four sides and tops, you felt like you were in an oasis. Not much could have been better, even the horses we rode along the beach were fun, healthy and smooth gaited. We loved the lazy river. Talk about a way to relax in the sun! I could fall asleep in a heartbeat while lazily floating through the tropical garden. Overall a real treat and we will return!
